Will Rogers Highway, also known as Route 66, will have its 100th year Anniversary in 2026. We have heard from the Rogers family and others since the fires. There will be many celebrations in other states. We have been invited to visit venues on Route 66 so California can participate. We will let you know what we can set up. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Route 66 was anointed on November 11, 1926, but it would take until 1938 before the entire route was paved with concrete. It quickly became one of the nation’s principal east-west routes, not only connecting small rural towns to each other but also connecting Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles via the nation’s first all-weather road.
