Thank you to those who have added your names to the list of those that will help and bring collector cars. Still looking for more. Joel (310)-471-8503
Will Rogers Highway, also known as Route 66, will be celebrating its 100th year Anniversary in 2026. Our club was originally asked to help coordinate the final stage of this occasion. Unfortunately, the tragic Palisades Fire Storm destroyed the Will Rogers home and surrounding structures. We are presently waiting to hear from the Rogers family and the County Parks Department as to our involvement. Thank you to those that offered to help. We will relay any information once we hear anything.
Route 66 was anointed on November 11, 1926, but it would take until 1938 before the entire route was paved with concrete. It quickly became one of the nation’s principal east-west routes, not only connecting small rural towns to each other but also connecting Chicago to the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles via the nation’s first all-weather road.
I appreciate the suggestions you provide of places to see, private collections to view and local tours. I look forward to seeing you at these events and more in 2024. Joel Feldman 310-471-8503
